This weeks blogpost will handle about Latex and how we like to shoot it. We all know about Latex and how it quickly gets associated with not the right images and mood.

If i'm shooting latex, with a big thank you to the people at Westward Bound, in a fashionable -beauty way we are not going for the flat images, but we try to put something extra in it, be creative. Play with lights, play with makeup, hair, mood, scenes etc.

For this shooting we decided to go with some extreme hairstyles and makeup. This would compliment the latex and the mood of the images.  Below you can see an image with some extreme makeup, not the makeup you would go for on a daily basis. We wanted something more futuristic.

Styling is an important part of the shoot. If we take the image below, without those shoes, but regular pumps, the feeling from this image would have been totally different. Luckily the model we casted had a lot of experience with latex and had the necesarry accesoires to go with it.

Another look we did on another backdrop. Something to keep in mind when shooting latex, it reflects, so choosing the right light modifier is an important part of the action.

You want reflections on the right places. Latex has to shine, so it will reflect light on a nice way. For that you can buy special sprays in stores.

The above images where shot with the same light modifier. For those two we used a striplight 130x50cm with a grid on it to bundle the light.  The light did not move in this shots,  but I did to change my angle towards the light and model.

And as a final setup we had a latex catsuit.

The makeup artist Eline Van Gils did something special with the hair and makeup to end with. We chose for a backdrop that has something futuristic in it, because the latex together with the makeup compliments each other really well.
